A One Year Foundation Course to Prepare for University

The College has a number of one year courses for International students. These lead directly to University.

Chichester College International Business Foundation

Duration:  1 Academic Year
Intakes:    September

Course Content:

The course consists of 8 units.

• Exploring Business Activity
• Investigating Business Resources
• Introduction to Marketing
• Effective People, Communication and Information
• Introduction to Accounting
• An Introduction to Market Research
• English for Academic Purposes
• Tutorial

International students will leave the foundation course with the necessary skills to take up a place at university to study one of a range of degrees in Business. Students will also have the necessary Academic and Study Skills to be successful in their chosen course of study.

Entry Requirements: Over 17 years of age, IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, satisfactory completion of secondary education.

Progression: Students can progress to a number of universities after this course

International Art Foundation

Duration:  1  - 2 Academic Years
Intakes:    September


Course Structure:

• 15 hours Art and Design per week
• 5 hours English Language Tuition per week
• 5 hours specialised study with UK students per week
• 2 hours workshop per week


Course Content:

Due to the nature of an Art Foundation course students will have an individualised timetable allowing them to specialise in specific areas. Some units will be common to all students. These include:

• Life Drawing
• Object Drawing
• Critical and Contextual studies (Art History and Criticism)
• Sketchbook and Portfolio Development
• Interview Preparation
• University application support

International students will receive individual attention in order to help them specialise in their chosen area. Students will be instructed to obtain the skills that they need in order to progress. Students’ timetables will develop on an individual basis to reflect the student’s needs.

Entry Requirements: Over 16 years of age. English Language IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

Progression: Students will be equipped with the portfolio and experience to apply for undergraduate art degrees at universities in the UK
