Intermediate Apprenticeship Children and Young People’s Workforce (Level 2)

This framework provides an integrated programme of on and off the job learning to achieve the level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.  Apprentices will work in a setting as an assistant and attend weekly day release at college.  Taught subjects include Child Development, Health and Safety and Communication.  Work-based assessments take place with a college assessor, who mentors and guides the learner, providing meaningful feedback on their practice and enabling them to develop within their role.  The framework includes essential skills including Maths, English and ICT all at level 1, in addition to a 16 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and an Employment Rights and Responsibilities Award.

When will the Apprenticeship start?

There are three entries per annum: September, January and April

How long will it take?

Apprentices will have 15 months to complete their qualifications
What are the entry requirements? Learners will have an interest in working with children and will need to be employed in an Ofsted registered early years setting. Learners will need to have an Enhanced CRB check which is organised by the employers.
