About Horticulture

About Course Image

Anyone who’s watched the Chelsea Flower Show and thought that a career in horticulture might be for them will be interested in the abundance of courses we can offer here at Chichester College. The industry offers many different career opportunities and we can help you decide exactly what aspect of this diverse industry best suits you. For example, those who are very physically fit and like to work outside all year round, in all weathers, arboriculture might be the best bet. If you’ve a head for heights and can learn to operate chainsaws, brush cutters, shredders and stump grinders, you could find out how to become expert in woodland management. Or, you might prefer to transform neglected or bare land and become a landscape gardener, or perhaps your passion is working with plants? Our expert tutors, coupled with the superb rural facilities at our Brinsbury Campus can help you to find the right niche for your green fingers.

National Award in Horticulture

"I've always been a labourer on building sites but wanted a career in horticulture. I really enjoyed my first year at college and passed my course with flying colours. I find that the younger members of the class come to me as an older and wiser student! The tutors are great, very kind and helpful. When I complete my studies I want to start my own landscaping business."
