Legislation places an obligation on food business proprietors to ensure that food production is carried out in a hygienic way and to identify and control critical food safety hazards. All food handlers must be supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters to a level appropriate to their job. The course is directed at those working in kitchens or involved in the processing, preparation or retailing of food. Successful candidates will gain an acredited qualification form RSPH.

How will I be Taught?
This course covers the theory of food hygiene and is taught in a classroom environment using an interactive Power Point.
How will I be Assessed?
On the day
Working within the catering industry and progression to the CIEH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering.
No previous qualifications or experience is necessary but a good standard of English, reading, written, and listening is required.

Students who are under 19 on 31st August in the academic year in which they start their course, will be exempt from tuition fees on the majority of courses.
