End of Year Festival Performance
We are planning something special for the last term before the summer holidays to include a festival performance - more details will follow.
All final performances take place on the last Saturday of the 6 week block where parents, family and friends are invited to attend.
CHIFEST 2013
The Rock Studios students will be performing on our main outdoor stage at ChiFest 2013, the Chichester College Music and Food Festival, which takes place this year on SATURDAY 15th JUNE. Please put this date in your diary as it is going to be a fantastic show for all the family! This event will be open to the public and more details will follow.
About the Rock Studios
Music provision at Chichester College has an outstanding reputation. In partnership with BIMM (Brighton Institute of Modern Music) the Music department has launched this new opportunity for young musicians to work with professional artists by developing their performance skills and working in bands. Students will be taught by highly qualified professional teachers from BIMM. All staff are experts in their instrumental specialism and are highly skilled musicians in their own right. Students will have the experience of working with professional musicians to develop their skills and self confidence as performers in a dynamic creative environment.
VOCALS | GUITAR | BASS | DRUMS | BAND PERFORMANCE
We are offering instrumental specialist workshops in guitar, bass, drums and vocals in addition to directing band rehearsals and performances.
1-1 tuition for those students participating in the Rock Studios programme will be available on request and at an additional hourly rate. Students will work on a set repertoire to develop individual playing skills before being placed in bands to then work towards and end of term public performance. Sessions run in 6 week blocks with a performance at the end of each 6 weeks.
The Rock Studios aim to provide high quality music training to students who have a keen interest in music and an aspiration to become a performing musician. This is a unique opportunity for young , talented and promising musicians to be individually guided by some of the most experienced industry professionals.
Rock School
Students will be encouraged to undertake Rock school examinations at an appropriate level under the guidance of the teaching staff and in agreement with the individual student.
Location
Situated in the Performing Arts block (D block) at the Chichester Campus we offer lessons delivered by qualified, experienced, enthusiastic teaching staff in fully equipped studios. Parking facilities are excellent (and free on a Saturday) and parents could take advantage of the on-site Chichester College Sports Centre with its state of the art gym. Historic Chichester, ideal for shopping and leisure, is less than 10 minutes walk from the College.
Fees
Pupils already enrolled have priority places for the subsequent 6 week block of classes. Invoices will be issued 2 weeks in advance and any pupil not continuing should notify us immediately. A waiting list will operate for any instrument group which is described.
Classes run over a 36 week academic year divided into 6 weeks duration. Fees are payable per term in advance or on the first day of the 6 week sessions.
Cheques should be made payable to Chichester College.
There is no refund for lessons missed by students.
2.5 hours tuition per week to include individual instrumental workshop (1.5 hours) and band workshop (1 hour).
