This diagram shows how the different qualifications relate to each other. It doesn't show every qualification that the College offers, but it does show you how each level relates to the next one and that there are many ways of climbing the ladder of learning!
Someone who has finished school with 5 or more GCSEs with A* to C grades has achieved Level 2. They could go on to study academic subjects at A-level (Level 3) or take a slightly more vocational route by taking a BTEC National Diploma (also a Level 3). However, someone who is starting a vocational course for the very first time will need to start at Level 2, and sometimes at Level 1. If you're interested in a subject area but you're not sure which level is right for you, you can see the entry requirements for each course or you can ring our Admissions team on 01243 786321 who'd be delighted to advise you.
